Where it pays more
- 5% on flights and hotels booked direct or on Axis Travel EDGE (5 EDGE Miles per ₹100, on up to ₹2 lakh a month)
Things that catch people out
- EDGE Miles cannot be taken as cash, so this card is ranked only if you tell us you redeem points for flights and hotels.
- We assume about 70% of your travel spend is flights and hotels booked direct or on Travel EDGE. Travel agents, trains and cabs earn the standard 2 miles.
- Tier miles are paid when the next annual fee is paid, based on the previous year’s spend.
- Utilities, insurance, rent, fuel, wallets, gold and government payments earn nothing and do not count toward milestones or tiers.
- The 2,500 welcome miles are not in our figure.
- Axis charges ₹99 per redemption and ₹199 per transfer to a partner programme.
Joining fee: ₹5,000.
Foreign currency markup: 3.5%.
