What the bank says

• Earns on UPI payments
• 3 CashPoints per ₹100 on groceries and dining, 2 on bills, 1 on other spends, each up to 500 a month
• 1 CashPoint = ₹0.25 against your bill
• Renewal fee waived on annual spends of ₹25,000

Where it pays more

• 0.75% on groceries, supermarkets and dining (3 CashPoints per ₹100), up to 500 CashPoints a month
• 0.5% on utility bills (2 CashPoints per ₹100), up to 500 CashPoints a month

Things that catch people out

• HDFC Bank calls these “3%, 2% and 1% CashPoints”, but at ₹0.25 a CashPoint they are worth 0.75%, 0.5% and 0.25%.
• Other spends stop earning after 500 CashPoints a month.
